The Health Promotion Centre (HPC), in collaboration with Gleneagles JPMC Sdn Bhd and HiTune Group of Companies, held a ‘Healthy for Ramadhan’ event at it premises yesterday.
Held under the Happy Environment and Lifestyle (HEAL) programme, the event was attended by High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona as the guest of honour.
The day featured several activities, open to the public, including fitness session, a ball weighing challenge and a mini futsal competition at the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) futsal arena.
The event also saw a health exhibition at the Health Gallery, a colouring contest for children, and a treasure hunt.
A car boot sale as well as food and drink vendors, were also set up at the venue.
There were health lectures on health guidelines and tips during Ramadhan, such as the use of medication or treatment while fasting, by Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak of the Al-Minhaaj centre. The event also saw a Al-Fatihah Clinic by Al-Huffaz Management on health and well-being activities.
The programme aimed at providing health guidance to the public on the proper ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the fasting month while creating a community that practices a healthy lifestyle while observing fasting rituals.
The event also highlighted the importance of cooperation in organising activities to achieve the goals in line with the MoH’s vision, ‘Together towards a Healthy Society’. – Rokiah Mahmud
