Fun day for special needs children

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) Al-Qudwah Group organised a community service programme at Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam in Kampong Bengkurong recently.

Thirty-four volunteers joined the activity that saw the participation of 58 Year 1 to Year 6 students from the centre.

The programme began with an exercise and ice-breaking activities such as Zumba and musical chair.

The day’s activities included word search and colouring.

The activity was aimed at encouraging Al-Qudwah Group to engage in charitable activities such as teaching and guiding individuals with special needs as well as taking the opportunity to spread the teachings of Islam.

The programme was also aimed at raising awareness and building a caring community towards special needs groups to support the Sultanate’s aspiration to achieve United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Al-Qudwah Group members also got to apply their knowledge and humanitarian skills. – Rokiah Mahmud
