Four vie for penghulu, village head roles

Four candidates will be involved in the three separate voting and selections of mukim penghulu and village head in the Belait District in November, said Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad during a press conference yesterday.

Haji Amirol Hafidzin said the first voting session is for the position of Penghulu of Mukim Sukang, with the sole candidate being Shahronizam bin Haji Mohamad Noh.

“The voting (for the Penghulu of Mukim Sukang) will start via the e-Undi PMKK app from November 8 to 10, with physical ballot voting on November 10 at the Mukim Bukit Sawat Multi-purpose hall at Kampong Sungai Mau,” he said. Meanwhile, the voting session for the sole candidate for the Village Head of Kampong Mumong ‘A’, Aminur bin Othman; will be from November 15 to 17 via the e-Undi PMKK app, with physical ballot voting on November 17 at the Kampong Pandan Community Hall in Kuala Belait.

“Lastly, the voting for the role of Village Head of Kampong Pandan ‘C’ will see two candidates, Abdul Fa’iz Ariffin bin Haji Awang Mohamad and Muhammad Nurfaisal bin Ismail.” Online voting will be from November 29 to December 1, with physical voting on December 1 at the multi-purpose hall at the Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School. – Daniel Lim
