Focus on teaching, learning practices at religious schools

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim yesterday conducted working visits to religious schools in conjunction with the commencement of the first academic term for 2025.

The visits included stops at Bokok Religious School in Temburong and Sungai Besar Religious School in the Brunei-Muara District. Accompanying the Permanent Secretary was Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, along with senior officials from the Department of Islamic Studies.

During the visits, the delegation toured classrooms, interacted with students and teachers, and observed the implementation of the SIUK (Sekolahku Ilmuku, Ugamaku Keberkatanku) programme for Year IV students.

The programme also featured discussions with head mistresses, including Hajah Rusita binti Haji Ali of Sungai Besar Religious School and Hajah Siti Mariam binti Haji Ahmad of Bokok Religious School.

The annual visits aim to assess teaching and learning practices in religious schools while ensuring the adequacy of infrastructure and facilities.

The initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to delivering high-quality and effective religious education. – Fadley Faisal
