Family members and friends eagerly welcomed home the first returning haj flight carrying 252 pilgrims who arrived at the Brunei International Airport at 8.51am on Wednesday.
Also welcoming the pilgrims were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II as Chairman of Board of Directors of Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, and Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar.
Among the returning pilgrims were four Haj Management Officers (Administration and Medical), 47 pilgrims from Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd, 71 pilgrims from Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn Bhd, 40 Titian Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd pilgrims, 53 Al-Hijrah Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd pilgrims and 37 At-Taqwa Travel Tours Sdn Bhd pilgrims.
