The 5th Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) Financial Fun Fair takes place at Jerudong Park today after an opening ceremony yesterday.
Visitors can join games and activities designed to promote financial management skills and knowledge. There will also be performances by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) brass band and Relentless Entertainment as well as comedy acts.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah launched the fun fair and witnessed performances by the RBPF brass band and Relentless Entertainment.
The minister also toured exhibition booths set up by financial institutions as well as insurance and takaful companies.
The ceremony also saw the launch of the BDCB mobile app available on Google Play Store and will be released on Apple App Store soon.
The app offers public access to BDCB resources and stay informed with news and publications from the central bank, including lists of licensees, unclaimed balances as well as alert list.
It also includes financial calculators and information on the security features of Brunei currency notes.
Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid and Managing Director of BDCB Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar were also present at the event. – James Kon
