Seven families from seven villages across the Belait District spent last Sunday in a series of friendly competitions as part of the Mini Sukan Ria at the Mumong Sports Complex.
The competition, organised by the Belait District Youth and Sports Department and the Belait District Office, was held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration. The games included rolling dice to advance the squares, popping balloons using darts, catching tennis balls using baskets, tortoise relay race, three-legged race, ball toss, and hitting target using balls.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann witnessed the sporting events and presented prizes.
Acting Head of the Belait District Youth and Sports Department Dayangku Hasmaranah binti Pengiran Hassan also handed a token of appreciation to the LegCo member. – Daniel Lim
