The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) On-Campus (OC) recently hosted a talk on ‘AI Usage in Education and Report-Writing’ at the Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT), UBD.
The event aimed to give the students, educators, and professionals a deeper understanding of the applications, benefits, and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, particularly in academic writing and research. With AI rapidly transforming learning environments and research methodologies, the talk provided a platform to discuss its potential and ethical considerations.
The session was led by Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Roil Bilad, an academic with expertise in membrane technology, research methodologies, and academic writing. An interactive question-and-answer session allowed attendees to engage with the speaker, discussing their thoughts, concerns, and experiences with AI in education.
Committee member of the IET Brunei Local Network Lim Sam Lee presented the speaker with a token of appreciation.
The talk also provided a networking platform for students, lecturers, and professionals interested in the intersection of technology and education, enabling them to exchange ideas, share experiences with AI-powered tools, and connect with others in the field.
