The Bangladeshi High Commission in Brunei Darussalam celebrated the 104th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day at its chancery last Sunday.
The programme began with the recitation of verses from Al-Quran and prayers for the departed souls of Bangabandhu, his martyred family members and other martyrs, followed by a one-minute silence.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona placed flowers before the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibir Rahman.
The programme continued with the reading of messages from the Bangladeshi president, prime minister and foreign minister.
A documentary on Bangabandhu was screened, to showcase his affection for children, contribution to the development and development of children in Bangladesh.
