Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraithin, handed over a donation of dates at a ceremony at the Multi-purpose Hall of Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan received the 140 boxes of Khalash Dates donated by the Government of Saudi Arabia.
The event continued with the deputy minister handing over the dates to representatives of selected mosques in the four districts.
The donation, intended as a meal item for breaking fast during Ramadhan, aims to further strengthen the close and friendly ties between the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam.
Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, as well as directors and senior officials from MoRA were also present. – Lyna Mohamad
