Eleven families affected by fire, house collapse, floods and strong winds received financial assistance from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, through the Community Development Department under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) in a ceremony held yesterday.
Among the recipients, one family was impacted by strong winds, three families were victims of fire incidents, five families were affected by flooding and two families experienced house collapses. All individuals involved in the disaster incidents did not sustain any injuries.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad handed over the financial assistance.
The assistance aims to ease the families’ hardship and reflects the government’s care and concern for its citizens. – James Kon
