Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) School comprising kindergarten, primary and secondary level handed over donations to 40 underprivileged families and 16 orphans from the school to ease the burden, especially in celebrating Syawal.
The charity project ‘Program Amal Kongsi Rezeki Yayasan Sekolah Yayasan SHHB’ also involved the Parent-Teacher Association as well as volunteers from Persatuan Pacuan Empat Roda Brunei Darussalam.
YSHHB School Acting Chief Executive Abdullah @Dollah bin Haji Ahad, the guest of honour, presented the donations to the orphans. The guest of honour in his speech shared that the main objective of the project was to instil the attitude of caring and awareness among the school’s population, especially students of YSHHB School at all level “as there are some people in the society who are less fortunate.”
He hoped that the caring attitude will become a culture and practiced daily so that when the students grown up, they will continue to instil the same attitude among the future generation.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of certificates to volunteers from the Parent-Teacher Association as well as volunteers from Persatuan Pacuan Empat Roda Brunei Darussalam. – James Kon
