DPMM set sights on victory against Balestier Khalsa

DPMM FC will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Singapore Premier League (SPL) 2024/2025 season when they entertain Balestier Khalsa FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas tonight.

The Gegar Gegar men have endured a torrid start since the resumption of the league last month losing their first three matches.

However, they rescued a point in the Singapore Cup in their last outing against Tampines Rovers FC in Group ‘A’ to keep them in contention of qualifying for the knockout phase.

The Brunei-based side will hope to get back into the run to get them within reach of the top five, which Balestier currently occupy.

The Tigers have also lost twice since the start of the new year, opening the door for DPMM FC to close the gap to within two points if they can secure a home win.

Jamie McAllister’s charges last drew 2-2 against their next opponents last September with goals coming from Hakeme Yazid Said and Gabriel Gama.

A late goal from Ismail Sassi prevented the hosts from victory with Riku Fukashiro also on the score-sheet.

But, news of the prolific Tunisian’s departure – having scored 13 goals in 18 matches – will be much welcomed by the home side.
