DPMM FC secured a sixth consecutive victory in the Brunei Super League (BSL) 2024/2025 following a 7-0 rout of Wijaya FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Faathimah Az-Zahraa’ Raihaanul Bolkiah were present at the match.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim led the team to victory with two goals.
The Jerudong-based outfit have made a solid start this season especially after they passed their test in a 2-0 win against two-time winners Indera SC and a 2-1 win over four-time winners MS ABDB.
The team have been strengthened by the acquisitions of foreign imports as Luis Matias Hernandez- Miruena opened the floodgates in the fourth minute. Central to the team’s goals is none other than Sergio Mendiguchia Iglesias who consolidated his name at the top of the scoring charts in the 13th minute.
Marcelo Junior De Souza Loiola, another reinforcement to the team, added his name on the score-sheet in the 23rd minute.
Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim added a fourth in the 56th minute before Sergio scored his second goal of the game nine minutes later.
