Dispute over industrial land planning needs resolution soon

Since the implementation of land zoning for industrial use years ago, many heavy industrial businesses have been forced to end their long-term leases on lands that they had been operating on for decades to the ones designated by the authorities.

Numerous talks between the operators and the authorities had been futile, resulting in licences being revoked due to the absence of business addresses.

Despite countless efforts to highlight the hefty rent price and huge relocation cost of heavy plants and machinery, leading to an increase in operational cost as well as the cost of national development, the authorities have not been able to provide subsidy or any resolutions to ensure the continuity of these businesses for the betterment of the country.

As a consequence, many businesses are left with licences that are fast approaching the expiration date and unable to continue servicing the country.

We the operators have formed a consortium in the hope of having a proper discussion with the authorities. But the inaction from their side has meant such a meeting is but a pipe dream.

As such we call on the authorities to work with us in resolving it, so the development of the country will not be hindered by the lack of homegrown suppliers.
