Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) hosted a panel discussion in celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) and in line with this year’s global themed ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’ yesterday.

The event featured Hajah Zainab MA Omar, a distinguished professional with an illustrious career in the oil and gas industry, who led a discussion on the importance of investing in women to propel progress in both the workplace and society at large. She delved into the intricacies of navigating a demanding career while balancing family life.

Her insights, drawn from personal anecdotes, shed light on the positive impact of empowering women in the workplace, emphasising the importance of pursuing goals and seizing opportunities to climb the corporate ladder.

Internationally recognised by the United Nations (UN) every March 8, IWD serves as a global rallying point for countries to address gender equality, acknowledged as one of the most significant human rights challenges.
