Digital transformation more than just a trend, says PUJA president

Digitalisation is more than a trend; it is the engine driving the evolution of our world and empowering us to solve complex issues, enhance efficiency and open doors to new possibilities that once unimaginable.

This was said by Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) Brunei president Sr Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman at the opening of the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) Congress 2024 at The Rizqun International Hotel yesterday.

“From the way we communicate and do business to how we manage cities and healthcare systems, digitalisation is at the core of a smarter, more connected future,” he said.

He added that the Sultanate’s Digital Economy Masterplan 2025 envisions a Smart Nation through digital transformation.

“This masterplan sets out strategic outcomes of a digital and future-ready society, a vibrant and sustainable economy, and a digitally conducive ecosystem,” he said.

He also said the congress’ theme, ‘Digitalisation Towards a Smart Nation’, is timely as Brunei’s construction industry is undergoing digitalisation or digital transformation. The event includes nine concurrent sessions featuring presentations from a variety of speakers.

PAQS Congress 2024 was presented by PAQS and PUJA Brunei, highlighting the transformative impact of digitisation on the construction industry.
