DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) yesterday said the two-day ‘Chat and Chew’ affair is a networking event specially for the startups within DARe’s ecosystem; which can be useful if they have a goal in mind on what they want to achieve, whether they are looking for an investor or mentor or learn from fellow startups.
The event at the Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) aims to develop collaborative and networking opportunities, especially with the Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) Companies and the Kuala Belait community.
DARe Chief Executive Officer Javed Ahmad and BSRC President Mohammad Ashraf bin Haji Esa attended thelaunching ceremony.
Javed Ahmad said the event serves to provide opportunities for like-minded entrepreneurs to not only share their knowledge and experience, but also to help form the connections through networking that can help create business opportunities.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ashraf noted the club is collaborating with DARe in reaching out to three startups – #Reflectionbythejayys, TopFolk and ProBike – awarded contracts to set up operations at BSRC.
“The contracts awarded today aim to provide opportunities for these Bandar based companies to tap into the Belait market,” he said, adding that among the services provided by the startups include carwash, food and catering, and bicycle maintenance services.
“The club plans to provide more opportunities for other types of businesses to offer value added goods and services to members and the Belait community. This is in line with the club’s vision to be a hub in the Belait District for social and sporting recreational activities as well as a centre for small businesses to thrive.”
The ceremony also featured a video presentation outlining the services provided by the startup companies, followed by the signing ceremony between the startups and the BSRC president.
This was followed by presentations on BSRC and DARe by Deputy President Siti Azzahra binti Hanafi and Assistant Manager Fatin binti Muzini as well as a presentation by Bank Usahawan.
Other activities available to the BSJV and Kuala Belait community during the event include business showcases featuring 32 startups that have been part of DARe’s business bootcamps.
Other participating agencies are Bank Usahawan and Let’s Eat Seria.
