The household affairs competition provides a platform for those skilled and interested in the fields of culinary arts and decoration, allowing them to showcase their talents and creativity, Chairperson of the Pertiwi Association of the Tutong District Branch Hajah Ainah binti Datu Hulubalang Haji Abd Wahab said.
She said this during the Household Affairs Exhibition for 2024 organised by the Pertiwi Association Tutong at Utama Hall, Community Hall Complex in the Tutong District yesterday.
The exhibition features a competition, attracting 30 participants and over 200 dishes, cakes, and decorative arts across 18 categories.
“Healthy competition through participation will enhance the participants’ experience, skills, and confidence, motivating them to further strive for success,” Hajah Ainah said.
“Achievements in this competition can also help build confidence in running businesses, thus improving the economic well-being of their families.”
Hajah Ainah also said the exhibition aimed to celebrate and contribute to the festivities in conjunction with the 78th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
During the course of the event, members of the public and guests viewed the exhibits as well as entries submitted for the competition.
Spouse of the acting Tutong District officer Rahayu binti Haji Abdul Rahman was the guest of honour at the event.
Pertiwi Association advisor Datin Paduka Hajah Zaharah binti Haji Idris; Pertiwi Association permanent chairperson Hajidah binti Haji Abd Wahab; and chairpersons of the association in Brunei-Muara and Belait districts as well as members of the high committee of the Pertiwi Association of Brunei Darussalam, members of the associations in Belait and Tutong districts were also present. – Adib Noor
