Some 78 Honda motorcyclists yesterday participated in a 78-kilometre ride from BTop Motors’ showroom in Kampong Beribi, Jalan Gadong to Liang Lumut Recreation Club (LLRC) in Belait District to mark the 78th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
This year’s ride also incorporated the element of Kenali Negara Kitani for the first time as riders visited several tourist spots in the Belait District.
President of Veteran Motorcycle Club Brunei Muadz bin Haji Abdul Hamid, who delivered a safety briefing, led the convoy.
Muadz said in addition to marking His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration, the ride also hoped to raise awareness on safety, especially in a convoy. – James Kon
