Converts join briefing on superstitions, myths

Some 65 converts in the Tutong District joined a Tarbiyah programme for converts held in conjunction with Ilal Hijrah.

The programme, held at the Tutong Community Hall Complex yesterday, featured a briefing titled ‘Avoiding Superstitious Practices and Myths’ led by an officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (MoRA) Faith Control and Research Unit.

Head of the Islamic Syiar Development Division at the MoRA Haji Aziman bin Haji Zaman was the guest of honour.

The event was part of an ongoing Tarbiyah programme organised by the Islamic Da’wah Centre through its Muallaf Development Division in collaboration with different districts’ Dakwah Units.

The programme aims to raise awareness, provide exposure and offer guidance to converts on Islamic beliefs, ensuring they remain steadfast in their faith in accordance to the teachings of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah. It also seeks to enhance the understanding and knowledge of new converts about superstitious practices and myths so that these beliefs can be avoided and abandoned. – Fadley Faisal
