There are currently a few construction projects in our residential area, and with the high frequency of heavy vehicles carrying materials to the sites has resulted in the road being badly damaged.
With the ongoing rainy season, what started as small cavities along the stretch are now deeper potholes and road cave-ins.
Even for residents, who are familiar with these dents, it is quite challenging to avoid them, especially when there is a heavy downpour.
I understand that development is inevitable, but surely, there must be a way to mitigate its impact on the quality of life of the residents. More importantly, who is responsible for these damages?
I hope that the authorities could look into the matter and come up with a policy that keeps these contractors from going about their businesses without thinking twice about what their presence is doing to the residents.
