The Enforcement Division of the Tutong District Office issued a BND500 fine on a local company for violating the Section 12 (1), Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021 of illegally disposing rubbish in public areas.
The offender was given seven days to settle the compound fine. Failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.
Meanwhile, company found guilty will face a fine between BND2,000 and BND10,000 for the first offence, and between BND10,000 and BND30,000, imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both, for subsequent offences.
The fines must be settled at the Finance Division of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department within seven days.
