ANN/VIENTIANE TIMES – A cold air mass covering all parts of Laos, combined with a northeasterly wind, is expected to cause temperatures to drop by two degrees Celsius (°C) to 4°C, bringing very cool weather to the northern, central, and plateau regions until tomorrow.
According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department, provinces including Xieng Khuang, Huaphan, Phongsaly, Oudomxay, Bokeo, Luang Namtha, Luang Prabang, Xayaboury, and Phongsaly can expect rain, strong winds, and occasional showers during this period, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 13°C.
Similar conditions are forecast for Xaysoumboun, Borikhamxay, Khammuan, and Savannakhet provinces, as well as plateau areas, where temperatures are expected to range between 13°C and 18°C.
In Vientiane, residents will experience cool weather with occasional wind gusts, with temperatures expected to drop to between 14°C and 17°C.
Authorities advised the public to take precautions against the colder temperatures and strong winds. In the south, the lower temperatures will range between 14°C and 18°C in Champassak, Attapeu and Xekong provinces.
