Cluster 3 and 5 wins gold for BDSC silat event

The silat event of the 2nd Brunei Darussalam Schools Games (BDSG) concluded with contingents adding to their medal haul at the Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre Multipurpose Hall in Kampung Mulaut on Thursday.
 
The grand finale of the programme witnessed the final Male ‘E’ tanding match between Cluster 3 exponent Md Raid Naim bin Md Syamsuddin and Cluster 6’s Muhammad Nur Raiman Galeh bin Muhammad Nur Izan.
 
The final match resulted in a 3-0 win in the favour of Md Raid Naim who claimed gold leaving Muhammad Nur Raiman Galeh with the silver medal.
 
Meanwhile, Cluster 4’s Awangku Md Darwisy Hamizan bin Pengiran Omar Ali and Cluster 1’s Mohammad Aniq Darwisyh bin Mohammad Najib shared the bronze.
 
Cluster 3’s Awangku Muhd ‘Aqeel Fadlullah bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yasrizam Ayub won gold in the Male ‘B’ final after a 3-0 win as beaten finalist Md Izz Malek bin Haji Md Harmaini from Cluster 5 settled for silver.
 
Cluster 1’s Mohammad Adam Hamim Nabawi bin Mat Zidi took bronze.
 
However, the opportunity of a clean sweep for Cluster 3 faded after both representatives lost the final in the girls’ categories.
 
Cluster 5’s Nur Asyifa Shabeqah binti Masli won gold after defeating Cluster 3’s Nur Ameera Zahirah binti Md Nazib 3-0 in the Female ‘D’ final.

Cluster 6’s Nurul Intan Munirah binti Abdullah completed the podium with bronze.
 
In the Female ‘B’ final, Cluster 1’s Annisya Suraya binti Razali defeated Cluster 3’s Nursyaziyah Mawaddah binti Mohammad Fauzi 2-1 en route to a gold medal as her challenging opponent settled for silver.
 
Cluster 6’s Nuramalina binti Abdullah and Cluster 5’s Nur Hamizah Batrisyia binti Abdullah Mohammad Zambire won joint bronze.
 
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman presented medals to the winners. – FADHIL YUNUS
