A Chinese-Indonesian woman embraced Islam during a conversion ceremony at a private residence in Jalan Dato Ratna, Kampong Kiarong.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the Syahadah led by Islamic Propagation Division officers.
The 22-year-old convert, formerly known as Verona Putri, adopted the Islamic name Nurjannah.
The occasion was celebrated with the Dikir Marhaban and concluded with a Doa Selamat.
Acting Senior Religious Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong was present.
Since January until February 7, 33 individuals have converted to Islam in Brunei, with 15 of them from the Brunei-Muara District. – Fadley Faisal
