The Friday sermon emphasised the significance of children as a blessing and a trust from Allah the Almighty, highlighting the responsibilities entrusted to parents and guardians in nurturing them as future leaders and righteous individuals.
Delivered nationwide, the sermon underscored that children are a test of faith and gratitude.
Parents were reminded of their obligations to safeguard children’s rights, which include the right to life, protection, education, and love. Referencing Surah Al-Isra, verse 31, the sermon cautioned against neglect, emphasising the need to provide care and sustenance.
“Every child has the right to a safe and loving environment, enabling them to grow into individuals who uphold moral and spiritual values,” the sermon stressed, urging the community to ensure children’s physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being.
The sermon also highlighted the critical role of education, referring to Surah Al-Alaq, verses 1-5, to remind parents and guardians of the importance of instilling knowledge and Islamic values in children.
“Islam emphasises the need to nurture children to become righteous individuals and valuable assets for their families, nation, and religion,” the sermon stated, urging families and the community to work collectively in supporting and protecting children.
