Awangku Hariri bin Pengiran Hira demonstrated exceptional strategic prowess to clinch the championship title at the inaugural Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Primary School Chess Club Tournament recently. The event, held at the school, saw the participation of 20 students who received prizes and certificates of participation, presented by the school’s Principal Hajah Mariam binti Haji Ladi.
The tournament aimed to introduce chess to students, fostering creative thinking and motivating them to take up the game. It also sought to enhance collaboration between the school and the Parents-Teachers Association (PIBG), with both co-organising the initiative.
YSHHB Primary School teacher Mohammad Khoirunnazhiim bin Mohd Daud and Pengiran Hira bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Omar from PIBG led the event, providing guidance to the participants throughout the competition. – Fadley Faisal
