The Community Development Department (JAPEM) with Brunei Medical Students’ Association (BMSA) organised a senior citizen appreciation ceremony to celebrate top 10 winners of ‘The Golden Milestones: Running Through the Golden Years’ and bowling ‘Strikes for Gold’ competition between Senior Citizens Activity Centre (PKWE) and Wargamas Association at Jerudong Sports complex, in conjunction with International Senior Citizens Day 2024.
Acting Director of JAPEM Dayangku Siti Saihalina binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Daud presented the prizes to the winners.
The top 10 winners of ‘The Golden Milestones: Running Through the Golden Years’ are Chin Yuk Fatt @ Micheal Chin, Norhasinah @ Suraya binti Abdul Rahman, Hajah Hirma Osnita binti Haji Matassan, Masraimi bin Masri, Iqa Rasimah binti Md Raseid, Norherman bin Mohd Nor, Khairin Jefri, Norazalina binti Haji Suhaili, Muhammad Redzuan bin Haji Yusof and Muhammad Akmalhayat bin Osman.
The virtual run, from September 2-29, was organised by BMSA. The ceremony also saw the handing over of a donation amounting to BND1,229 from BMSA to PKWE fund. The event proceeded with the prize presentation to the winners of bowling ‘Strikes for Gold’ held on October 8 with 10 teams participating.
The men’s category was won by Wargamas Association while second place went to Brunei-Muara District PKWE followed by Belait District PKWE.
The women’s category also saw Wargamas Association team emerge as champion followed by Brunei-Muara District PKWE in second and Temburong District PKWE in third.
The award for best male player went to Pengiran Haji Omarali bin Pengiran Haji Damit, while the award for best female player went to Siti Norbaya binti Haji Nawi.
