Calming the mind and body

A yoga session was held at the Panaga Club yesterday in conjunction with the International Day of Yoga.

The Panaga Club’s yoga section hosted 30 participants for the extra session held atop their regular weekly classes, said section Chairperson Venkata Ramana Rao Suryadevara.

“Yoga has various benefits to the body and mind,” he said.

“We want to create a calm environment where club members can practise yoga with other like-minded individuals who share the same mission to better themselves, both physically and mentally, through yoga.”

Durrah ‘Nadheerah’ binti Idris, who began yoga classes last year, noted its benefits. “Yoga creates opportunities for me to focus more on my breathing and taking care of my body in general,” she said. “It gives back to my body after having worked so hard.”
