There have been growing concerns over stray dogs and crocodiles in our country. These animals not only pose danger to the public but also threaten our way of life.
As a nation that values harmony and safety, addressing these concerns in a thoughtful manner would greatly benefit our communities.
I thus call on the authorities to set up an animal control agency to provide educational community workshops, sterilisation programme and strict enforcement of pet ownership laws.
The agency could also learn from counterparts in other countries that have had success in keeping wild animals from encroaching on human habitat.
By adopting proven strategies and best practices, I believe we would be able to come up with a humane way of keeping the issue from escalating further.
