In 2011, I lodged a police report after my two business partners forged my signature on 24 bank transaction forms to have BND352,456.68 transferred from our business account to their own.
While it took a year to obtain the original bank forms and send them to the crime lab, I was relieved that an investigation was being carried out. A few months later, the lab report was released, confirming that the signatures on the forms were indeed fraudulent. But instead of picking up where they left off, the enforcement side seemed to have swept the case under the rug.
It’s been over 10 years and my frequent follow-ups with the authorities have yielded nothing but more inaction. Has my case been cast aside? Forgotten?
I hope the authorities could resurrect my case and launch a proper investigation into a crime committed 13 years ago. It was a crime and the perpetrators should not be let off the hook, scot-free.
