(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – Jimin of BTS has set a new milestone, surpassing 1.2 billion plays on Spotify with his solo track “Who” as of Monday. This achievement marks the shortest time for a K-pop artist and a male solo artist to reach this milestone, taking only 151 days. Jimin’s record beats the previous mark held by Harry Styles for his hit “As It Was.”

“Who,” the lead track from Jimin’s second solo album Muse, has enjoyed significant global success. The hip-hop R&B track has spent an impressive 21 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100, peaking at No. 12. In the latest chart update for December 21, the song climbed four spots to No. 43, continuing its streak of popularity.

Jimin’s “Who” also stands out as the sole K-pop entry on Billboard’s Year-End Streaming Songs chart for 2024, coming in at No. 74. His album Muse secured a spot on the Billboard 200 Year-End chart at No. 200, making it one of only two K-pop albums featured. The other was bandmate Jungkook’s solo album Golden, which ranked at No. 80.

Jimin’s accomplishments highlight his influence as a solo artist, further solidifying his position as a global music icon. With “Who” continuing to dominate streaming platforms and Billboard charts, Jimin has set a high bar for future K-pop and global artists alike.
