SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – The bespoke suits worn by BTS members during their Grammy Awards performance in March 2021 will be exhibited at the Jewelry Museum in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, from September 7 to December 15.
These custom-made Louis Vuitton suits, worn by the seven K-pop superstars during their rendition of “Dynamite” at their debut Grammy performance, were acquired by E-Land Group, a local clothing retailer, at Julien’s Auctions in January 2022.
This significant purchase and the subsequent exhibition agreement were formalised between the city and E-Land Group’s private museum.
In addition to the BTS suits, the exhibit will feature jewellery once owned by British royals, another highlight from the E-Land Museum collection.
Over the past three decades, the museum has amassed an impressive collection of over 500,000 items, according to museum officials.
Iksan Mayor Jeong Heon-yul expressed his enthusiasm for the exhibition, anticipating that it would elevate the city’s global profile.
“Our people in Iksan would benefit as well in the process,” he said, highlighting the local and international significance of the event.
This exhibition promises to attract both BTS fans and history enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of contemporary pop culture and historical artefacts.
