BSP welcomes new cadet pilot trainees

Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) recently held a signing ceremony to commemorate two new cadet pilot trainees at its aviation hangar in Anduki, Seria, Belait District.

This year’s scholarships was granted to Yasmin Suhaer binti Yusoff and Hamiz Aqmar bin Abdul Razak. BSP’s Head of Bruneianisation and Talent Rezona Haji Tajudin and Acting Head of Logistics Delivery Aviation Khanan Venugopal were present.

Khanan Venugopal, in his opening remarks, said, “The cadet pilot selection process is often gruelling and demanding, designed to test the mental and emotional resilience of the candidates. This year’s cadet pilot selection process took approximately five months and we started with 725 applications.”

Yasmin Suhaer said, “This journey will be challenging, but also rewarding. I am committed to upholding the values of safety, integrity, teamwork, and excellence that BSP represents.”

The candidates will pursue the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programme at Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA), Oregon, in the United States for 18 months.
