Brunei Darussalam’s team Mixed Squad emerged winners of the Raja Borneo Veteran Merdeka Cup 2023 at the Likas Synthetic Field in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in Malaysia last weekend.
The country’s representative beat Putera Veteran 2-0 in the final inspired by two-goal hero Mohd Bakhtiar bin Bujang.
The veteran star was also named best player in recognition of his stellar performance, especially his match-winning heroics in the title decider.
Meanwhile, former national goalkeeper Ibrahim Bakar rolled back the years after scooping the best goalkeeper accolade.
