The Brunei Darussalam National Under-19 team will face a tough test during the ASEAN Under-19 Boys’ Championship in Indonesia, said their coach during the sidelines of a training session yesterday.
The Young Wasps have been drawn into Group ‘C’, alongside Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. “We know the capabilities of the opposing teams. But we will try hard to provide positive competition,” said National Under-19 head coach Aminuddin Jumat on the sidelines of a training session at the FABD football field.
“We hope that the players will apply the preparations made during training in the coming matches.”
Brunei faces Malaysia in their group opener on July 19 before facing Thailand on July 21.
The Young Wasps will complete their groups stage campaign against Singapore on July 25.
“The most important thing is the responsibility of the players to have concentration as well as mental and physical strength to face the three teams in the group stage.” – Fadhil Yunus
