Brunei Religious Education Certificate results announced

The Examinations Division of the Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs, has released the results for the Sijil Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (SPUB) 2024, taken by Year 10 and 11 students from Arabic secondary schools and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Tahfiz Al-Quran.

A total of 592 candidates sat for the examination, with 351 candidates (59.29 per cent) achieving at least a Jayyid (credit) grade in all subjects, marking a 12.30 per cent improvement compared to 2023. Additionally, 513 candidates (86.66 per cent) attained at least four Jayyid grades in their subjects, while 127 candidates (21.45 per cent) achieved aggregate grades between 6 and 8.

Students can collect their result slips from their respective schools, while private candidates are required to retrieve their result slips at the Examinations Division Office, Department of Islamic Studies, located on the ground floor of the Ministry of Religious Affairs building, during office hours. Candidates who are eligible and interested in pursuing Pre-University studies at Hassanal Bolkiah Boys’ Arabic Secondary School (SMALHB) can collect registration forms starting Monday, December 23, from 8.30am to 12pm at the school’s premises, with the deadline for returning the completed forms set for Saturday, January 4, 2025.

Parents, guardians, or candidates who wish to receive their examination results via SMS can register by sending the required details to the respective service numbers: 8885555 for DST users, 38666 for Progresif users, and 39966 for Imagine users. The SMS should include the following: KHEU (space) REG (space) EXAMINATION CENTRE NUMBER (space) CANDIDATE INDEX NUMBER (space) SMART ID NUMBER, and successful registrations will be confirmed via SMS without charges, although a fee of BND1 will apply for each SMS containing examination results. – Fadley Faisal
