BruIPO, WIPO hold intellectual property management clinic

The Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Singapore Office, organised the WIPO Intellectual Property Management Clinic (IPMC): Leveraging IP for Business Growth and Globalisation recently.

Solicitor General at the Attorney General’s Chambers Hajah Zuraini binti Haji Sharbawi officiated the clinic held at the Attorney General’s Chambers. The first day introduced participants to the IPMC. On the following days, they received mentoring from IP experts from Singapore, Director and Head of Intellectual Property and Intelligible Assets Practice from CHP Law LLC Dixon and Senior Consultant and Regional Manager of FT Consulting Robin Yeo.

The focus was on creating and executing IP strategies, with assistance from lawyers Kamal bin Shaari, Brandon Chin and Lim Li Chyi from Yusof Halim and Partners. Participants also learned about branding, valuation, licensing and franchising from Brand Consultant Shujuan Tan.

The IP clinic aimed to assist business enterprises in formulating, managing and leveraging their respective IP strategies and other intangible assets portfolios for commercial advantage, as well as developing their local and external markets.
