The new KIA Sorento which will be unveiled at the KIA Showroom tomorrow, comes with three 2WD trims of G, GL and GLS.
All trims are equipped with the same petrol engine of 2.5L DOHC D-CVVT MPI and six-speed automatic transmission.
The midsize three-row SUV is boosted with a powerful and bold image by combining KIA’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy with the concept of Bold For Nature.
The upright front hood and squared off edges with its distinctive amber daytime running lights contribute to its sleek and modern aesthetic.
The Sorento boasts a broad and rectangular front grille while complemented by vertically stacked LED projector headlamps emphasising the front. The constellation inspired Star Map lighting elements in the front and rear, lend the Sorento a futuristic edge.
Inside, the KIA Sorento is equipped with the panoramic curved display offering a truly immersive driver experience. Its wide and expansive design provides clear and unobstructed visibility. Another notable feature is the fingerprint module offering improved convenience and security by loading personalised settings in driving and even starts the engine when a driver has forgotten the key.
Meanwhile, the digital centre mirror displays images from the rear-spoiler camera giving a clearer view of a much wider area, day or night, rain or shine. The driver can switch to optical mode with the flick of a lever at the base of the mirror.
In term of well-being of the driver and passengers, the new KIA Sorento possesses several innovative safety features.
The Sensors and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology works to anticipate and avoid risks and threats with masterful dynamic support on the open road or as one eases into a parking spot.
The latest ADAS technologies will help keep occupants alert, safe and in control. This means keeping a safe distance from other vehicles and pedestrians as well as responding to unexpected situations in real time.
Meanwhile, the smart cruise control helps maintain a safe distance from the vehicles ahead at the speed the driver sets. If the vehicle ahead stops abruptly, the Sorento automatically stops and then resumes acceleration, while lane following assist (LFA) helps the driver centre the vehicle in the lane while driving by using the front view camera to help guide the steering based on lane markings or the car ahead.
For the blind-spot collision-avoidance assist (BCA), it warns the driver if there is a risk of collision with a rear side vehicle in the blind spot while changing lanes. The reverse parking collision-avoidance assist (PCA) provides a warning if there is a risk of collision with a rear object while reversing.
