BN on the Move competition extended to September 20

The BN on the Move Championship 2024 will be extended until September 20 due to increased participation, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced yesterday.

The ministry also announced that BN on the Move 2024 t-shirts will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.

These details were announced during a press conference at the Health Promotion Centre (HPC) yesterday.

HPC Head Dr Siti Rosemawati binti Haji Md Yussof and MoH’s Director of the Healthcare Technology Department Rudy bin Haji Harun headed the press conference.

BN on the Move Championship 2024, which began on May 20, comprises four categories – government, private sector, higher education institutions and public. The competition aims to encourage participants to be more physically active by tracking their daily step counts.

It was revealed that this year’s championship has seen a 3.5-fold increase in participation from May 20 to July 20. The average daily step counts also increased from 4,950 to 5,910 in the same time frame.

The MoH encourages participants to remain committed and actively engage in the competition. The initiative is expected to help prevent or manage non-communicable diseases. – Adib Noor
