Innovation has always been at the heart of progress, and the Brunei Innovation Lab (BIL) has been consistently at the forefront of fostering creativity and groundbreaking solutions, said BIL’s General Manager Freddie Ting Lik Wei during the launch ceremony of the Safety XR, a virtual training system, at a ceremony yesterday.
The launch of Safety XR, he said, “is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible and ensuring the well-being of individuals in various industries”.
He added, “Safety XR, he said, “combines the power of extended reality (XR) technologies with a dedicated focus on enhancing safety protocols. This immersive experience allows us to simulate and address potential hazards in a controlled environment, providing a unique training platform for individuals across industries such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and more. In the fast-paced and ever-evolving landscape of technology, it is crucial to adapt and embrace innovations that not only make our lives easier but also safer.”
Safety XR, a collaborative project between Rumine Corporation, MAED Training, and Young & Smart Technology (YST), utilises virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and XR to simulate real-life hazards and provide users with hands-on experiences in a safe and controlled environment.
The initiative is part of the ASEAN-ROK cooperative project to revolutionise regional safety training.
Meanwhile, co-founder of Rumine Corporation Sarinah binti Ziziumiza said, “As we embark on this journey with Safety XR, let us remember the collective effort that has brought us here today. Together, we are shaping the future of safety training, making it more immersive, engaging, and effective.”
