Bank supports families in need through annual initiative

The second instalment of Baiduri Bank’s annual ‘Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan 9 ‘initiative continued yesterday, with eight families enjoying an afternoon of shopping at Hua Ho Petani Mall, followed by an iftar gathering in the evening.

The Council for the Welfare of Persons with Different Abilities (MKOKU) identified the recipient families.

MKOKU oversees nine non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA), Society for Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER Brunei), Down Syndrome Association (ABLE), Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD), Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB), National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) and Learning Ladders Society (LLS).

Baiduri Bank Head of Institutional Banking Awangku Nor Muhammad Nizam bin Pengiran Haji Tengah and Head of Retail Banking Lim Kian Chiong were present at the event.Speaking on the initiative, Awangku Nor Muhammad Nizam said, “As we observe Ramadhan, we appreciate how important it is to come together with family and loved ones.

Through Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan, we’re not just providing support – we’re creating moments for families to share, connect, and experience the true spirit of the season.”

Indera Motors sdn Bhd returned as the lead logistics partner, providing transportation for families to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.

The initiative is also supported by Baiduri Cares, an internal volunteer programme that enables employees from Baiduri Bank, Baiduri Finance, and Baiduri Capital to contribute to community-focused activities.

Since its inception, Let’s Give Back This Ramadhan has grown into one of Baiduri Bank’s most impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives, bringing together employees, community organisations, and corporate partners to uplift communities during the fasting month.

The next event will take place on March 19 for families from Temburong and Brunei-Muara Districts, with the final instalment scheduled for the following week for Brunei-Muara families.
