Avoid haram food for prayers to be answered

Those who supplicate will have their prayers answered by Allah the Almighty, except if they consume food or drink that is haram or wear haram clothes.

This was highlighted in the talk ‘Munajat that is accepted or rejected’ by Director of Jawi Studies and Kitab Turath Research Centre at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Azman bin Haji Kassim in the weekly Munajat, held for 106th time, on Saturday night.

Ra’es of International Rabithah of Al-Azhar Brunei Darussalam Alumni Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof led the reading of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.

Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) staff, members of International Rabithah of Al-Azhar Brunei Alumni, mosque takmir committee members and mosque youth from Kampong Pintu Malim Mosque and congregants from nearly 90 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide participated in the Munajat.

The religious event also saw the recitation of Ratib Al-Attas, Doa Munajat, Salawat Badriyyah and ended with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

The Munajat night organised by the MoRA invites the public to increase their spiritual practice, seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty through recitation of Istighfar, reading of Al-Quran and supplication for the people and the nation to be spared from calamities and diseases.
