Arabic schools compete in preparation for ‘O’ level exams

“In fostering healthy competition and encouraging a deeper understanding of subjects, we hope that students will feel more confident and be better equipped for the challenges ahead,” said Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School’s (SUAMPRIPAHS) acting principal Dayangku Aidi Norintan binti Pengiran Haji Zinin.

She said this during a quiz competition for Brunei Cambridge GCE ‘O’ level subjects held at SUAMPRIPAHS in Kampong Katok yesterday.

Over 50 fast track Years 10 and 11 students from three Arabic schools – 18 from Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School, 18 from Ma’had Islam Brunei and 18 from SUAMPRIPAHS – participated.

The acting principal said the school took the lead to host the inaugural quiz as part of the school’s broader initiative, Ilal Majdi Wal ’Ula programme under the guidance of the Islamic Studies Department (JPI) to support the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Strategic Plan 2020-2024.

“It also exposes students to various online applications, while making students technologically literate and increasing their motivation and persistence in preparing for the upcoming exams,” she added.

Assistant Director (Corporate Services) at the JPI Haslinah Susanti binti Haji Md Hassan was also present. – Azlan Othman
