The National Anti-Drug Association (BASMIDA) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony attended by 40 members yesterday.
The ceremony at the residence of BASMIDA President Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali in Kampong Jerudong was held in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 40th National Day celebration.
The BASMIDA president said the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony has been held annualy since 2018, adding that the activity has become a platform for its members to learn to read Al-Quran with the correct tajwid well as a medium to understand the meaning behind the verses.
The event also aims to cultivate the spirit of patriotism among participants.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the BASMIDA president, followed by the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Selawat Tafrijiyyah, Takhtim, Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. – Rokiah Mahmud
