Anak-Anak Polis Diraja Brunei religious school, representing Brunei III emerged as the champion in the inaugural An-Najah Quiz for Year 6 students from religious schools across the nation for the year 1446 Hijrah, held at the Conference Hall of the Islamic Da’wah Centre yesterday.
Brunei Zone IIA religious school, represented by Lambak Religious School, Jalan Bedil claimed the runner-up position.
Organised by the Islamic Studies Department (JPI), the quiz aimed to produce academically excellent students while enhancing their understanding of religious subjects.
It also sought to inspire and motivate Year 6 students as they prepare for the upcoming Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU) Examination and foster healthy competition among the participants.
Acting Director of JPI at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hajah Mariana binti Haji Jamil, the guest of honour, presented prizes to the winners.
The event saw the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by welcoming remarks from Chairman of the Religious Schools Leaders Committee (JKPSSU) for Brunei Zone I Azmerul bin Haji Haris, before proceeding with the final quiz round and a video presentation.
The quiz competition was organised by the JKPSSU Brunei Zone I and supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam. – Fadley Faisal
