Amazing race unites students, parents

Eighteen teams comprising Tanjong Kindana Primary School students and parents and community members participated in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Amazing Race on the last day of school term.

The race, organised by the school, featured five checkpoints around Kampong Sungai Bunga and the school’s premises, solving clues at each location to find their next destination, which included a Subuh prayer practical and recitation of Doa Qunut task, kuih sapit making, kite making, water filter creation and lamp making.

The event was designed to promote STEAM education and foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation among students, while also strengthening the connection between the school and the community. Headmaster Mohd Salleh Hamidy bin Julidy emphasised the importance of such events in providing holistic learning experiences beyond the classroom where students receive hands-on learning. “It’s an opportunity to develop critical thinking, creativity and practical skills that are essential for the future.” – Lyna Mohamad
