The National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults for 1446 Hijrah serves as an essential platform for Brunei’s qari and qariah to advance to regional and international stages. Organised annually by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), the event aims to raise the quality of Al-Quran reading in the country and inspire the public to develop a deeper interest in proper and organised reading techniques.
This year’s semi-final round will be held from November 11 to 13. The event will culminate in an awards and results announcement ceremony on November 14 at Muzakarah Hall, International Convention Centre in Berakas.
A total of 57 participants, comprising 46 qari and 11 qariah, will showcase their reading over three days. The MoRA will livestream the sessions on its official Instagram account, @kheu.brunei. The awards ceremony on November 14 will also be broadcast live on Nur Islam FM, Radio Television Brunei. – Fadley Faisal
