Local bowler strikes silver in Shah Alam meet

Local bowler Mahali bin Haji Abdul Rahman did the country proud after clinching the silver medal in the men’s senior singles event of the 36th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship in Shah Alam, Malaysia recently.

A total of 24 cities from Asia participated in this year’s championship including, among others, Seoul, Jeju, Kowloon, Tamuning in Guam, Pasay, Singapore and others.

The championship which is recognised by the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) was organised by Asian Intercity Bowling Council and Shah Alam City Council as the host of the championship.

Meanwhile, during the departure of the delegation, Acting Chairperson of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board Sharinah binti Haji Awang Suhaimi said the Municipal Department expressed pleasure that players from the Brunei-Muara Ten-Pin Bowling Association participating in the Asian Intercity Bowling Championship represented Bandar Seri Begawan and were able to compete against bowlers from other Asian cities. – Fadhil Yunus
